Socialplace Cookie Policy

Updated Date: Jul 30, 2025, 12:00 AM

This Cookie Policy explains how Socialplace (“we”, “us”, or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies when you access or use our online community, mobile app, or any related web-based service (collectively, the “Community”). It should be read in conjunction with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, store, use, and share personal information more broadly.

By continuing to use our Community, you agree to the placement of cookies on your device as described below.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are downloaded to your browser or device when you visit a website or interact with certain digital services. They store information about your browsing behaviour and help websites function properly, remember preferences, and improve your user experience.

We also use related technologies such as tracking pixels, beacons, and local storage (“cookies” collectively) to gather similar information.

2. Types of Cookies We Use

We use the following categories of cookies across Socialplace:

a)

Strictly Necessary Cookies

These are essential to operate our Community and enable features like login, account security, and access controls. Without them, certain services cannot function.

b)

Performance & Analytics Cookies

These cookies help us understand how users interact with the Community by collecting information such as page views, time on site, session duration, and actions taken. We primarily use:

  • Google Analytics (for behavioural insights)

  • Circle (Community Host) (for internal engagement tracking)

These tools help us improve functionality, identify bugs, and optimise your experience.

c)

Functionality Cookies

These remember your preferences and settings (such as language or region) to offer a more personalised experience.

d)

Targeting/Marketing Cookies

These may be set by third-party services such as Meta (Facebook/Instagram), LinkedIn, or other advertising partners. They track browsing across websites to serve more relevant ads and promotions.

3. Cookies Placed by Third Parties

Your use of the Socialplace Community is hosted via the Circle platform, which may also place cookies and tracking technologies on your device. These are used to deliver core platform functionality such as login sessions, user preferences, behavioural tracking, and feature optimisation.

CircleCo, Inc., as our hosting provider, may set and manage its own cookies in accordance with its own Privacy Policy and cookie practices. While we do not control how Circle processes this data, we aim to provide transparency where applicable and ensure their use aligns with our own privacy standards.

In addition to Circle, cookies may also be set by the following third parties:

  • Google – Analytics, advertising, session tracking

  • Meta Platforms, Inc. – Retargeting, ad delivery

  • Vimeo, Loom, Canva – Embedded content tracking or performance logs

  • Stripe – Secure payment session and fraud detection tracking

We recommend reviewing the cookie and privacy policies of these third parties directly for further information.

4. How You Can Control Cookies

You can manage or disable cookies in several ways:

a)

Via Your Browser Settings

Most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies. Note that disabling certain cookies may affect the performance of the Community.

  • For Chrome: chrome://settings/content/cookies

  • For Safari: Preferences > Privacy

  • For Firefox: about:preferences#privacy

  • For Edge: Settings > Site permissions > Cookies and site data

b)

Via Device Settings

You may also manage cookie and tracking permissions through your mobile device or app settings.

c)

Do Not Track Signals

Currently, we do not respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals due to a lack of standardisation.

5. How Long Cookies Stay on Your Device

  • Session cookies expire when you close your browser.

  • Persistent cookies remain until a set expiration date or until manually deleted.

The specific duration of cookies varies by purpose and provider.

6. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in law, best practices, or our service. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy will be revised accordingly. Significant updates may be communicated through email or in-app notifications.

7. Contact Us
